Published on May 6, 2012 by

Join Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action on Saturday, May 12, 2012 as we honor the original intention of Mother’s Day (for Peace) and the women who have resisted war throughout the ages. It will be a full day of activities, including nonviolence training, action planning, and a vigil and action at one of the entrance gates to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, home of the West Coast Trident nuclear ballistic missile submarine fleet.

The full day’s schedule, downloadable flyers, and more are available here.

  1. It was a wonderful day for mutual support. I spoke to people about how difficult it was to get family members to come to events like these. There, but for the Grace of God I too, could be complicit and complacent and fearful. Kathy said she does the work she does partly for herself. Peaceful dialogue continues with the opposition.

Just checked the weather forecast – best day yet. Sunny and 73F!! Bring floppy hats, sunscreen and a peaceful heart.
The meadow is mowed (thanks to Brian W) and dry – excellent for pitching a tent Friday night. Consider bringing lawnchairs to move breakout groups outside.
    See you there…
