Celebrate the groundbreaking of the Peace Garden at our Peace Festival, Saturday, Sept. 22 at Ground Zero Center!
The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes activities for kids, a rummage sale, a bake sale, Dances of Universal Peace, music, talking circles and the dedication of the grounds at GZ Center as a future Peace Garden. Admission is free, but folks are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items that will be donated to Fishline and Helpline, the local food banks, in the name of Ground Zero Center.
If you’d like to help:
- Donations of items are needed for the rummage sale. Clean out that stuff you don’t use! Contact caretaker[@]gzcenter.org if you would like to drop off items in advance. All proceeds go to Ground Zero.
- We need baked goods for the bake sale. You can mail them by Wednesday, Sept. 19, to arrive in time for the bake sale or bring them the day of. It would be helpful to know ahead of time, what you’re making to reduce duplicates and increase variety. Proceeds from the Bake Sale will go to Ground Zero’s fund for the Peace Garden.
- Get the word out. Feel free to print out the flier, either downloaded from here, or our Facebook event page. Share this post on your Facebook wall.
