“The Nuns, The Priests, and The Bombs” CORRECTED SHOW TIME!!!

May 28, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

***EDITOR’S NOTE: Helen Young just informed me that tomorrow’s screening will actually by at 4:00 PM rather than the previously announced 3:00.

You are cordially invited to a private screening of “The Nuns, The Priests, and The Bombs,” a documentary film which pays tribute to Father William Bichsel and his lifelong dedication to peace.

In 2009, along with four fellow activists, Father Bichsel undertook a dramatic Plowshares protest, which resulted in a criminal conviction and prison time. The film tells the story of that federal case in Tacoma and the subsequent protest action it inspired by an 82-year-old Catholic nun in Tennessee.

Propelled by their deep moral conviction, Father Bichsel and his fellow activists risked death in an effort to raise awareness on the global threat posed by the world’s 15,000 nuclear weapons.

This is a screening for cast and crew and invited community as a number of the film’s scenes were shot at The Ground Zero Center for Non-Violent Action, in St. Leo’s Catholic Church, and Tacoma at large.

Filmmaker Helen Young will be on hand to thank all peacekeepers, supporters, donors, and friends of the Earth. We are also planning to have some of the film’s main characters in attendance, and we hope you will be there too.

Please join the St. Leo Parish, Tacoma and the “G” Street Community in Bix Hall (aka: Father William Bichsel SJ Hall), Sunday, May 28 @3 pm for this special community event.
