WITNESS PERSONS ARE

- Help determine the message
of the action.
- Help maintain a prayerful,
nonviolent spirit throughout the action.
SUPPORT PERSONS ARE
ASKED TO:
- Participate fully in Affinity
Group decisions.
- Help determine the message
of the action.
- Know the people in the
group by name
and description.
- Write out names, addresses,
phone numbers
and pertinent information of
anyone risking arrest.
- Take care of properties
of members in the group risking arrest.
- Try to determine what is
happens to members
in event of arrest.
- Greet them when released
if possible.
PERSON RISKING ARREST
IS ASKED TO REFLECT ON:
- Why do I want to do this
action?
- Who besides myself will
be affected? Can I work this thru with them?
- Am I prepared to deal with
the legal consequences?
- Am I prepared to deal with
non-arrest?
- If there is an arrest,
how will I faithfully carry
my witness thru the legal process
- Do I intend to carry identification
with me?
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS
FOR THOSE RISKING ARREST:
- How will I respond to the
arresting officer?
- How will I plead at the
misdemeanor arraignment?
- How will I deal with a
cash bond?
- How will I plead at the
court hearing? (Not
Guilty; Nolo Contendere; or Guilty)
- Do I want to pursue a jury
trial or a bench
trial?
- Do I want to represent
myself, or have a lawyer
represent me?
- If I am tried with a group
is it okay for some
to use lawyers and others to defend
themselves?
- Will I pay fines?
